Learnerobics
Our focus is on the brain - where learning and reading challenges
like dyslexia, autism and language delays begin.
I'm Monique
If you or child is experiencing difficulty with any of the following, you're in the right place.
Following or remembering instructions
Following conversations with a noisy background
Decoding - sound out a word eg. c/a/t = cat
Spelling, reading fluency or comprehension
Retelling a series of events in the correct order
Not quite getting the timing of jokes, poetry or social banter
Losing interest, or avoiding homework and assessment tasks
Increasing number of misunderstandings
Increasing social conflict/school incidents
The majority of NAPLAN comments that say "Developing" or "Needs Additional Support"
Has dyslexia, autism, ADHD or anxiety around learning and reading.
How is Learnerobics Different?
Let's take a look at what makes Learnerobics stand out.
Auditory processing disorder (APD) is not a hearing problem.
It has more to do with how fast the brain can process sound.
People with APD can't process the sounds of language fast enough.
If present from birth, it can affect language development.
As learning and reading are both language skills, people with APD may need to work harder to understand, communicate, spell, decode (sound out words), read fluently and comprehend. People with APD often avoid reading, because they stay stuck in learning to read, and don't get to enjoy it. Their frustration puts them at risk of disengaging from learning altogether.
APD is associated with dyslexia, autism, ADHD, language delays and brain injury,
Brain research changed significantly with advancements in imaging technology in the 1990s. Since then, neuroscientists continue to unlock how the brain learns. The bodies of research called The Science of Learning and The Science of Reading, are already changing how learning and reading are being taught in schools.
Thanks to neuroscience technology, we now have an online platform that makes exercising the brain's language pathways adaptive, rewarding and fun.
It's also been used by over 3 million students globally through speech pathologists, school districts and in homes world wide for nearly 30 years.
We understand the resistance people feel to learning and reading
Many people with reading and learning challenges only learn to avoid it, because it hurts. Many of these students may also learn to "mask" or hide their challenges, just so they can fit in. In the long run however, students who disengage are at risk of mental health issues, social challenges and lost opportunities.
Therefore, we support you with coaching that helps build perseverance, executive functioning and the confidence to build skills for life.
Frustrated by costs, solutions that didn't work, schools that didn't have the answers, waiting lists, managing increasing anxiety, social complexities and difficult behaviours, I started to look at the latest brain research for answers.
In short, I designed Learnerobics to empower mums like you:

"I have seen a huge improvement in her speech, and how she constructs sentences. Her latest school report reflects improvement in her reading and writing, and she’s no longer under the benchmark for her age! Monique has been very supportive throughout our journey, and I would highly recommend her to other families with similar needs.”
